Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best known for portraying detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she earned an Emmy Award. She is best known for her role in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife who was a housewife. She grew up within a household that included four brothers. While she was a small girl, Delaney wanted to be a court-reporter. In highschool her modeling career began when she was able to model commercials, she moved to New York. When she was a teenager, her first role as an actress came in the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Delaney appeared in a number of TV movies, film as well as dramas in the years since. The professional life she has had is much more lucrative than her personal life. This actress who's skilled and beautiful, has battled addiction to alcohol before. Her marriages have also been unsuccessful twice. In 2005, she lost custody of her only son.
