Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist who currently is a competitor in the UFC flyweight division. Shevchenko is the younger sister of an earlier UFC Flyweight champion as well as fellow UFC competitor Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko started her combat sporting career as a Muay Thai Kickboxer. She first made an appearance in the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko won the tournament and was defeated by Suzane Miller in the finals via one-sided decision. Antonina continued to win and won a silver medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008 a gold medal in the year 2011 and the title of year-end 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia's professional career started in 2003. In 2012 she won in the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship, in 2016, it was the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina defeated Isa Tudblad Keskikangas during her final match in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by unanimity. Antonina Shevchenko shattered her debut professional MMA record at the KFK cup in Kyrgystan in a fight with Anara Bayanova. She took the win via TKO at the end of second round. She continued to beat her next two fights at the WXF X-Impact World Championships, 2003. This gave her three wins in her MMA career. Shevchenko was absent from MMA to work on kickboxing. She was able to make her return with Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko won against Anissa in a unanimously-decided match, after which she beat Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She left in 2018 the contest and started participating in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina's superior strike skills permitted her to TKO Nievera via knees in the body. Antonina's UFC contract was extended following this win. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters' finale in which she was fought against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi by a split-decision fight following her first bout by unanimous decision. Antonina bounced back from losing and defeated Lucie Pudilova in the rear with a choking submission in the 2nd round of UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the extra fight of the evening for this bout. Shevchenko went 2-2 in her next 3 fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski, and lost to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina was recently defeated by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
